Sandy began his lacrosse career at five years of age with the Long Branch Monarchs, then movied to St. Catharines where he played midget, juvenile, (winning a provincial title), junior and senior for the St. Catharines Athletics.
He joined the Brooklin Redmen for the 1967 and 1968 seasons where he was the Eastern Senior Lacrosse MVP and Murphy Trophy winner in addition to being part of the Mann Cup Champions. In 1968, he also played pro lacrosse for Detroit and later with Montreal aqnd St. Catharines.
Sandy’s education includes a BA in Business Administration, an MA in Economics, and an MSc in Medical Science.
