Bob Hesketh was a sports columnist with the old Toronto Telegram when the opportunity to be the Public Relations Director for the Whitby Dunlops presented itself. The objective was to generate as much favourable media attention as possible for the sponsor, Dunlop Canada Ltd., and handle media relations. On later reflection, it was an easy job as the Dunlops needed little help getting good coverage. His career move was a significant one – after the Oslo excitement abated, Bob left an agency job and became a feature newscaster at CFRB.
