Mike was a member of the 1968-69 Brooklin Redmen Mann Cup championship team and was previously inducted in the Whitby Sports Hall of Fame with his teammates in 1999.

In 2004, he was recognized for his accomplishments and contributions in lacrosse after his playing career through his individual induction in the Builder category for this sport.  These include his role in reviving the Brooklin Redmen franchise in 1976 and acting as the General Manager for the team from 1976 to 1987 (Mann Cup champion in 1985 and Mann Cup finalist in 1986) as well as serving as Commissioner of the Ontario Lacrosse League from 1987 to 1984.

Mike was also instrumental in launching the National Lacrosse League in 1990, and then subsequently moved on to hold various management roles including: President of the Brooklin Redmen (1992-93), Manager of the 1990 Brooklin Redmen Mann Cup champions, and General Manager of the Brooklin Merchants Senior B team (2002-04).
