Hockey

  • Inducted in 2002 (Whitby Red Wing Junior C)
  • Team

Bill and his brother Ross had a very early start in hockey when their father, Jack, made a small rink in the backyard of their family home in Oshawa every winter, essentially from the first day that the boys could stand on skates. They then played in the Oshawa Minor Hockey system until the family moved to Whitby.

Bill continued his hockey career in Whitby, playing for the 1945-46 Red Wing Junior C champions, as well as the Bowmanville Imperials, who were the Lakeshore League and Easter Ontario OHA Intermediate Champions in 1949-50.
